It is not so much of a consequence that we have not done that well in the winning stakes for our hastily constructed First Grade side this year when you remember back to when we did not have a team to follow at all. (We did beat Penrith today to add to the celebrations however). It is great though that the lower grades are performing extremely well and that we may now be able to ensure we retain many (if not all) for our future first grade sides unlike years of old. Gee we are even able to enter the buyers market, as we are currently doing, for players for next year. As a Souths supporter this certainly is not something I can remember us doing in a long long time. Other teams used to buy all our great players before and so if anything good came out of the 2 plus years of not playing well I guess that is one thing. I am a great believer in what comes around goes around and that whilst it is a personal choice to forgive we must never ever forget .......... continue to support your team, get to as many games as you can (remember what it was like with no team as we do not want that to happen again!) and simply enjoy the moments the future will bring along the way to the mighty South Sydney Rabbitoh's!
Many people donated / loaned their personal keepsakes and memorabilia which ensured a successful day for those that chose to visit the club's museum of our fightback to celebrate and reflect on the past 12 months and more. This fight had become so well known, not only just in Australia but all over the world, that George recently was honoured in the latest Queens Honour lists for his dedication to the South Sydney Club and it's district - congratulations. Noeline Piggins, Albert Clift, Eileen (affectionately know as Nan) the volunteer that has been at the club for so many years etc were made life members of the Football Club - congratulations to those as well. Albert was also just taken in as our inaugrial TV Week fan of the fortnight as well!
There were items from people like you and I (the fans) to a letter to Mark Courtney (author of Moving The Goalposts and fan) from Russell Crowe.
In line with Souths usual family feel there were jumping castles, face painting, sausage sizzle, special sale items from the Souths shop, the museum, a luncheon for those that wished to attend etc etc.
George Piggins was interviewed live on TV (Channel 7) in the afternoon from the museum.

I (and all that attended) feel that the "museum" was extremely well presented and tasteful (given that a lot of the memorabilia was from an era of "hate" by our fans of certain people and things Rugby League of the time.
I personally have to say a big well done to the club and all involved. (Gee my placards etc from the various marches and functions attended during the fightback looked great too!!)
I hope those that could not attend this day enjoy the pictures and those that could attend can always come back and remember the day, and what it means to be a Souths supporter, cheers and UP THE RABBITOH's!
Oh, a couple of the photos may be a little un-clear and that was due to the subdued lighting and the fact that spotlights were on many items but in front of the camera. Whilst this was great for the displays it was not ideal for my digital camera. Overall though I still got many good shots out of over 100 taken.

Note:- To view larger picture click on the thumbnails below and a new browser window should open to display the larger version. All you have to do is re-select this window and click on the next picture you want to look at and go back to the other browser window and so forth. This is to save you having to continually click on the 'back' button in this window. It also allows you to use the back button on the picture 'viewing' (ie the new browser window) to look back and forward at the pictures you have already downloaded saving you having to download them again. Better still click on first thumbnail, then come back here and click on all the other thumbnails you want to see. When finished go to the 'viewing' window and use back and forward buttons to browse each larger image at once! As you do this 'clicking', provided your browser is set up to it's default setting, the file names under each of the thumbnails will change colour so you can keep track of which ones you have already clicked on thus avoiding repetitive downloads which can cost you if on a limited ISP plan. (Usual default settings are red for not visited and blue for visited) Enjoy.
To go to my other site, the main boycott history page (previously was the boycott page), you simply click on the link:-
It is okay for you to copy the pictures for personal use but remember to pop a donation off to South's! Please do not deface, make any commercial gain and so forth to / from any of the images. Thankyou.
"HELP ENSURE SOUTHS STAY IN THE LEAGUE!"
Same link can also be found at the bottom of every 'album' page. On that site you will also find graphics of past fightback / supporter stickers etc, most not on these pages.

Read the words to see why it was used in one of our most loved fight-back videos. This brought out so much emotion every time it was played. The message was clear - Never Say Die and stick together!

This 'new' style photos page first posted to the Internet on 7th July 2002.
Actual sites last update can be found near the bottom of the main page which can be located from the link "MORE RABBITOH PHOTOS!" above.

Pages have moved several times as 'free' photo providers either closed up or started to charge for their services. Because there is a lot of work in setting these up I have given up and now trying my own web-page based photo albums which I have more control over and are a lot simpler to maintain. Because of the overall size of the album site, which is well over my ISP's megabyte limits, I have had to look for a 'free' web-page provider and in return for this 'free' service am displaying their banner adds. I am hopeful that the pages will no longer require any further movement. I hope this advertising is not too much of an inconvenience as the only other solution for me is to remove the pages from the web completely. You never know you might see something that interests you - but please come back!
